Recently, mRNA has been established as a potential new drug format for human use. Development of mRNA-based treatment strategies poses several important hurdles which should be minimized or overcome by specific optimization steps.
Cellular mRNAs are single stranded RNAs which contain several key elements: a 5’ CAP region, a 5’ untranslated region (5’-UTR), a coding region (CDS), a 3’ untranslated region (3’-UTR) and a poly-adenosine Tail (poly-A Tail). Accanis has extensive expertise in optimizing these elements in order to increase expression and biological activity of therapeutic mRNA constructs.
